Throwback to Good Old Junior Choir

So today in church we sang a song I've known ever since I can remember, largely thanks to junior choir at DCPC. "Spirit of the Living God." A lot of you probably know it, but it goes...

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

It's not that complicated of a song, and it's one of those that's so familiar that nine times out of ten you probably don't really think about what you're singing. But this morning it hit me that I really meant those words. I want God and the Holy Spirit to fall on me in a new way this year. I may not know how that'll happen yet, but I want Him to melt me, mold me, fill me, and use me in whatever I'm supposed to be doing this year. Maybe in an expected, outwardly visible way, or maybe He'll mold me into something new and use me for something I never saw coming. Either way, those words are legit.

Love,
Allison.

P.S. - Yeah I just said legit...I'd like to think the Holy Spirit doesn't mind a little abbreviation every now and then.

  1. FYI, you're awesome, and you're going do do awesome work and make people smile every day. You might even sit on a couch with them and feed each other cheesecake straight from the pan. Stay magical, friend!
