About This Blog

“You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place.” (Miriam Adeney)

A co-counselor of mine during my time on staff at Camp Grier led a devotion one evening, the discussion around which was summed up in four words. Saltage good, sandage bad. (Check out Mark 9:50.) As for me, I'm just another girl on the journey, trying to figure out what it means to be the good kind of salty and rambling on the internet as I go. I'm particularly fond of alliteration and puns, and my soul is most at home in the North Carolina mountains. I'm a lover and maker of recycled art, hand-written letters, mix CDs, and coffee. (Dislikes include scary movies and the stringy things on bananas.) I'm a believer that anyone can be an artist, and that funfetti cupcakes are the best.

I started this here blog in August 2010 as a way to keep friends and family updated on my adventures working in campus ministry in Nashville, TN as part of the PC(USA)'s Young Adult Volunteer program. After year two of YAV life working in a New Orleans hospital chaplains department, I moved to Decatur, GA and am now finding my way through life as a seminarian. I'm a big fan of words, and it's my hope that I can continue to share some of them here.
